"Will is Will - but he has a spinal cord injury. We have given him permission to dream as big as he wants to dream, and will support him with every ounce of our being.”
ABOUT WILL MURRAY
Will is a typical 14-year-old boy whose life up to this point has been full of sport, friends and school.
Renowned as a talented athlete, Will was Vice Captain of the Victorian School Boys State Football Team, represented Australia at the World BMX titles, played representative basketball and captained his school football team. Ask anyone, and Will is the kid you want to coach, the team mate you want on your side and the friend you want to hang out with.
In one moment, Will’s life changed forever and so did the life of his entire family.
Will sustained a serious neck injury in January 2016, when he was playing with his mates at a local beach in Melbourne’s bayside suburb of Black Rock. An accident off a pier resulted in catastrophic damage to his C5 vertebra and diagnosis of quadriplegia from severe spinal cord injury.
We are a group of locals close to the Murray family who are committed to doing whatever we can to help them support Will in his recovery.
We have established a trust fund, the Will Murray Trust; and we are steering a range of ongoing fundraising activities and events to help relieve the significant financial pressure the Murrays are under.
You too can help. Through your donation, you’ll help Will to lead the best life he can – with access to physiotherapy, expert rehabilitation programs, specialised equipment, ongoing full-time care, and a home repurposed to suit the needs of someone with a spinal cord injury.
Thank you for following Will’s story.
